Team was given the scope and existing UI designs partially done by the previous team.

After review team recognized that main issue with the previous design was a lack of cohesiveness and consistency (partly due to the varied scope), which caused an uneasy and disjointed experience.

The major goal became how to tackle this problem head-on.

ResEARCH + CONCEPTING

Research was done with the end goal being bringing a cohesive and enjoyable experience to the site.

Over time an idea emerged - by leaning towards a minimal design it allowed for streamlined, consistent flow between all of the different portals, each of which had an unique functionality.

One aspect that the team liked about the previous design was the 'Arena' theme.

Despite adopting a new UI/UX system we decided to revamp the homepage, which previously was an 'Arena' image with different buildings designating a different portal of the site.

We then used the 2D image as a reference for our 3D Arena, which was modeled by a 3D artist and then incorporated into the site va three.js
